DareDevil Season 3
I finally finished the latest season of one of Netflix's best shows. I know a bunch of you aren't fans of superhero shit, and I'm not nearly as big on them as I used to be, which is why this show is wonderful. It's comic-book mythology put into gritty crime dramas, for adults.
The last time we saw DareDevil was in The Defenders, which kind of sucked. Matt Murdoc is trying to get his groove back after being defeated in the aforementioned show, and Wilson fucking Fisk is out of jail. Vincent D'Onofrio is goddamn perfect for this role, and he brings a menacing intensity to the role like no other. He infiltrates the FBI to orchestrate his grand master plan, bring in a new great aspect of this season: Benjamin Poindexter, aka, Bullseye.
Ever since The Dark Knight set that bar so high, most superhero movies have tried to be as good, but they miss the point. The realism is essential for any good storytelling, and that's why I like it when they play rough. This season had some awesome fight scenes, that's for damn sure. Every season is known to have a bad-ass "hallway scene" in which DareDevil beats the living shit out of his adversaries in some well choreographed fight scene, with minimal cutaways. This season turned that into a whole damn episode of awesomeness, and they didn't skimp out on the fights later, either. The whole season, Bullseye is masquerading in a DareDevil suit killing the shit out of people, and old Matt Murdoc is in his street-fighting Dexter outfit.
I don't really care about The Avengers. I don't care about most of the Netflix shows either, but DareDevil has always been solid, and this latest season may be the best one yet.
Anybody watch any of this shit?
