Vietnam, and/or War Movies!

Here I am, watching Kong: Skull Island, which is set in a 1973 post-Vietnam backdrop. I'm also rewatching the 1987-1990 Vietnam war series, "Tour of Duty". I think the Vietnam war leads to the more interesting of war movies. What are your fave War movies, and does the type of war matter (Civil War, WWI, WWII, Vietnam, etc) towards your enjoyment?

My faves:
Platoon (1986) - Best war movie, IMO. Got a fucking fantastic cast, and some fucked up moments in it.
Full Metal Jacket (1987) - Another great nam movie, told in 2 acts: a disturbing boot camp fuckery, and the horrors of Nam!
Tour of Duty (1987) - The whole 3-season run was set in Vietnam, and had some damn fine episodes! This show has made me cry on a few ocassions.
Forrest Gump (1994) - Also has 'Nam subplots!

Vietnam has become a sort of joke in b-movie lore, since there's always a bad-ass Nam vet who has to save the day, like Rambo, or Combat Shock, or Farcry 3: Blood Dragon, or so many others. I was watching Last Action Hero the other day, and they mention how Jack Slater saved John Practice's life in Nam.
