Kim Richards with Elsa Lanchester

I think this is interesting. Kim Richards is on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which I think most people would agree is the ultimate Trash Epic. (I'm proud to say I've never even seen it, but I see enough references to it all over the $%^&•%$#@!ing internet that I feel that I can speak with great authority about this topic). Anyway, when she was six or seven years old, in 1971, she was on a show called Nanny and the Professor, and Elsa Lanchester co-starred with her on a few episodes. Elsa, of course, is best known to most of us here as The Bride of Frankenstein, from 1935. She was in her late 60's when she was on Nanny and the Professor.

That is really striking to me, to think of all the decades of combined show business experience you see, when you see Kim standing next to Elsa, talking to her. Together, they represent almost the entire history of Hollywood, at least in the era since silent films. Elsa Lanchester actually starred in a few silent films, but that was in London in the 20's, not Hollywood, so... whatever that means. Kim Richards is still hanging in there, of course... I had to Google this, but apparently she is a grandmother now, and there is an excellent chance that she will still be acting in the 2020s. So, that's a whole century of show business history right there, just in that one shot of Kim standing there with Elsa.
