Final Destination: Bloodlines

You know how these movies play out. This one is the same ol' concept, but it's somehow better. A woman has a premonition of a tower collapse in the 60s or whenever, and she escapes her fate. Years later, death is catching up to her descendants to finish what it tried to start with her.

The family angle works well with skepticism and the eventual realization that it's not just coincidence. They work together, fail together, and we're given some gnarly scenes and a few fake-outs to keep you guessing. Some are so fucked, you can't help but laugh.

Tony Todd's character is only a small role, but he's got a nice backstory in there. You can tell he was sick and skinny as hell in this, as his character admits he has cancer and he's on his way out. It was a very self-aware scene and honestly, it broke my heart. God bless Tony Todd, and may he rest in peace.

I can probably say this is the best entry in the series. Not that it ever had a high bar to live up to. I'm pretty sure all these movies end the same way, but fuck it. I still enjoyed it.
