Jimmy Fallon makes a Fool of Himself

**Jimmy Fallon Forgets to Log off Before Praising Himself for Anti-Trump Tweet
BY: Alex Griswold
June 25, 2018 10:27 am**

NBC "Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon deleted a tweet late Sunday night in which he praised himself for a donation to a pro-immigration non-profit intending to troll President Donald Trump.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fallon expressed regret for a 2016 show in which he tussled Trump's hair and joked with the then-Republican nominee. Trump responded on Twitter Sunday that Fallon was "whimpering" and intoned "Be a man Jimmy!"

.@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous "hair show" with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have "humanized" me-he is taking heat. He called & said "monster ratings." Be a man Jimmy!

β€” Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 25, 2018

Fallon tweeted in response that he would be donating in Trump's name to the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a non-profit that provides affordable legal representation to legal and illegal immigrants.

In honor of the President's tweet I'll be making a donation to RAICES in his name.

But in a now-deleted tweet caught by others, Fallon responded to his own tweet by praising himself. "This is great!! Thank you," Fallon tweeted. In a second tweet, Fallon just tweeted "I'm."

Is it just me or did @jimmyfallon tweet at himself from his real account by accident and then delete it? pic.twitter.com/M55Bt8fxqK

While both tweets were deleted, an archive shows Fallon did in fact make both the "This is great!!" and "I'm" posts.

Dracula, that bloodsucking bastard...

Yeah, he's a popular guy in the genre. Maybe not so much now, but he was all over the place for the early cinematic decades. The original novel is public domain, so that's why we have so many bastardizations going around, and that's what we're here to talk about.

Currently 34 "Dracula" movies in the db.
https://junkepics.com/film/?category=1&tags=dracula

As you can see, there's a lot of shitty standalone titles, a bunch of Hammer/Universal sequels, and a lot of remakes/adaptions of the story. Of the ones that are trying to (at least vaguely) follow the source material, we have:

Germany's 1922 "Nosferatu" with Max Schreck
Universal's 1931 "Dracula" with Bela Lugosi
Universal's 1931 Spanish version with Carlos Villarias (not seen)
Hammer's 1958 "Horror of Dracula" with Christopher Lee
Jesus Franco's 1970 "Count Dracula", again with Christopher Lee
Dan Curtis' 1974 "Dracula" with Jack Palance
Paul Morrisey's 1974 "Blood for Dracula" with Udo Keir
that 1977 tv movie "Count Dracula" with Louis Jourdan (not seen)
Werner Herzog's 1979 "Nosferatu" remake with Klaus Kinski (not seen)
Universal's 1979 "Dracula" with Frank Langella
Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 "Dracula" with Gary Oldman
Mel Brooks' 1995 "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" with Leslie Nielson
Dario Argento's 2012 "Dracula 3D" with Thomas Kretschmann (not seen)

How would you rank these? Add more if you want, because I'm sure I'm forgetting plenty.

This Jack Palance one I'm watching isn't too shabby. Moody, like any good Dracula movie needs to be, and never a dull moment. That's something that the Hammer Dracs have plenty of: dull, boring, dreadful scenes. Of course, casting is a big deal too, but I can't fault many (if any) of these performances, because they're all pretty good at playing him. Are they all coincidentally great actors, or is Dracula just an easy role to play? πŸ₯΄

I like Udo Keir's movie, even though he's such a pussy in it. He needs virgin blood, and of course it barely resembles the source material, it's still kind of an original take on it. Plus, it's super sleazy, and that's always a good thing.

Leslie Nielson's comedic take was kind of a dud, which is a shame, because Young Frankenstein was actually a decent movie in its own right. Of course, I always hate how much of a joke the character has become. If Adam Sandler has played Dracula 3 times... I officially hate Dracula now, but goddamnit... he used to be cool, when real actors played the part.

The first Hammer Dracula movie is probably better than all of Universal's Dracula movies, but the sequels all suck. Coppola's version was pretty good, and had a great look to it. I like it.

Dead of Night 1977 by Dan Curtis

Here's a horror anthology that's been on my watchlist for a while, and I found it on amazon prime. It's a rather short tv movie, so it's easy to watch, featuring three segments that are all pretty decent.

The first one is about a guy (Ed Begley Jr.) who restores an old car that was crashed in 1926. He's a bit meticulous about it, and even keeps the same old license place on it. He rides it into town, and things start to seem a lot more like 1926 again...

It's a decent skit that borrows from the early Twilight Zone episode "Walking Distance". Not particularly horror, but it's all about eerie coincidences.

Then, we have Patrick Macnee and Elisha Cook Jr. hunting a goddamn vampire. Of course, Dan Curtis needs to include vampires in his works, just because. It's a grim little tale, but it has its charm.

Finally, we have a story about a woman who holds a seance of sorts to bring back her dead son who drowned some time ago. It starts off like Monkey's Paw, but quickly takes a Pet Sematary route. Perhaps Stephen King was inspired by this story.

All three stories were written by Richard Matheson, and I can say right off the bat that I liked it more than Trilogy of Terror. They don't make 'em like they used to.

On a side note, this is one of many films titled "Dead of Night". I've never seen the old B&W anthology from 1945, but I have seen the Bob Clark film from 1974 aka "Deathdream".

I've Challenged Myself: Video Nasties

Today I have started a challenge for myself. As I said in my previous Video Nasties post, I thought it would be fun to watch every Video Nasty. I'm going to do this at a leisurely pace, so I'm not sure how long it will take. I plan on watching everything that's listed in all three Video Nasty sections. I don't know how long it will take me, but I know I'll have fun. That's the point, after all, isn't it?

After I watch a movie or movies for that day, I will reply to this post with what I watched and a few thoughts on the film(s). FTV will be in Red.

I was going to watch them in alphabetical order, but as Troma pointed out to me, I may get bored. (He knows me too wellπŸ˜„) So, I'll skip around the sections. Also, I don't know how hard it will be to find some of the movies. Hopefully, it won't be too big of a problem.

If any of you would like to join in, by all means, feel free to do so. This isn't a timed challenge, just watch when you want. You don't have to mark a spot.

Faces Of Death

Fuck, I really wanted to do a review for Faces Of Death this month, but how does one go about writing about such a movie? I mean like a presentable review. Not just rambling like what you're about to read. There's no story. Just a bunch of gruesome scenes, some real, some not so real. Scenes with political statements where the narratator chimes in with a little pollution/anti-war preachiness now and then. This movie isn't quite the traumatizing gorefest it's legend would suggest, and probably isn't banned in 80% of the world either. I smell a big load of hype. And that's ok because I love me some Faces Of goddamn Death. Sure, the accidental deaths are sweet even though they're not real, and the score is pleasant to the ears, but most of all, I just dig that very dated 70's vibe this one gives off. Always have.

The killing of the cows in the slaughterhouse, while gay, didn't bother me that much. Not nearly as much as other animal deaths from later FOD installments. That stuff got pretty bad. The morgue scenes was about as extreme as it gets, the guy who snapped and murdered his family was funny, The snake handlers were too. The scene where the guy who supposedly got eaten by the bear was retarded, but entertaining. Seems like the best skits on here are the fake ones. I'm fine with that. Which are your favorite FOD skits?

I think my favorite out of the whole series was the one where the guy in the parachute landed in an Alligator farm. Oh, come on, that's good shit!

in the 4th one, some drunken college kid died bungee jumping cuz the rope was too long. Stuff like that is what comes to mind first when I think of the FOD series. If any type of death CAN be funny, it's the accidental kind.

In one of them, there was this Vietnamese family preparing a puppy to eat for lunch, sticking a knife in what is obviously a close-up of a stuffed animal filled with liver and whatveer else. Kudos for not killing actual puppies.

I was watching FOD on Youtube recently. Interesting how they cut out the part with the black guy getting the gas chamber. That's a bit racist, imo.

How 'bout those protesters? people holding up signs and shit and one of them randomly goes off to the side to light himself on fire. Kinda reminded me of old man Vanhentenryck during my most recent viewing. I could totally see him rocking out to "jesus Doesn't Live Here Anymore" whilst aflame. Come to think of it, this one is my favorite due to it's sheer randomness.

They also got FOD 2, 3, and 4 on Youtube if anyone's interested. I've never seen 5 or anything after it. Have you? Pretty sure I rented Traces Of Death decades ago but can't remember anything. Those aren't easy to find copies of, I've noticed. Is there a Death Traces? Maybe I'm thinking of Death Faces. Then, there's other pieces of shit like Faces Of Gore, and well, these types of movies peaked some time before those happened, didn't they? I liked Africa Addio, Shocking Asia, Shocking Africa and Mondo Cane, but Faces Of Death is still king, even though it feels more like a regular movie than a documentary.

Sisterfucker: The History Of Linda And Abilene

image

Herschell Gordon Lewis always seemed like a mild-mannered guy. An old fashioned gentleman who always came off rather conservative, despite some of the movies he made. And even the crazier stuff he did was still pretty innocent, at least on some level. However, there was this one. A movie Herschell did in 1969 which I'm still a little baffled by. Linda And Abilene is what's on my mind, today. The only thing HGL did that could be considered a Western, not to be confused with the handful of Hixploitation films he made. Technically, this is a softcore Porno-Western we're talking about. A weird combination, but not unheard of in this era. What was most likely unheard of, not to mention a hell of a lot weirder, is a Softcore Porno-Western involving a brother-sister love story. This isn't exactly what people have in mind when referring to Herschell Gordon Lewis as a pioneer, but like it or not. Linda And Abilene exists.

image In 1869, Todd and Abilene's parents were taken from them. Far too soon as we quickly gather. Young Abilene is taking the loss especially hard, but the siblings must go on, live life, keep the farm up and eventually start families of their own. The grief and loneliness becomes too much for them both as Todd and Abeline seem to become depressed. They're there for each other as much as a brother and sister can be, but they clearly need something more. Sex, romance. Normal stuff like that which makes it all the easier to move on. And then, one day, it happened: Todd saw his sister naked, and at that moment, realized something about himself: Todd would totally stick it to her if he had the chance.

image The more Todd thinks about his sister's hot, luscious body, the more distracted he gets. However, with a stroke of good luck, it seems as if Abilene is starting to fancy Todd back. The growing feelings are pretty much confirmed during a scene where they both lay in bed and masturbate to the thought of each other. Soon, the desire becomes too much for them both as they give in to temptation by fucking the shit out of each other. And as we see in a montage, the next few days looks to be non-stop "brother-sister time". One might think this would make things awkward while doing chores together, but in reality, nothing at all is getting done, now, as Todd can't keep out of Abilene's vagina, and she's not about to turn down her big, strong brother's big, strong penis and hot, brotherly cum.

They know it's wrong. I'm not 100% sure they know it's fucked up, but they know what they're doing ain't right. So, what should they do about this? Abilene isn't anywhere near bothered enough to consider ending things. Todd, on the other hand, is very torn, and becoming somewhat tormented by a gnawing guilt. He knows how their parents would feel about this. Most parents would be horrified at the thought of their own children in such an unnatural situation. Something has to change ... Soon! A few more thrusts wouldn't hurt. Then, no more incest!

image It all becomes too much for Todd and he runs off to the saloon where he meets Linda, whose vagina he uses to possibly break the spell. A roughneck named Rawhide overhears Todd telling his new friend about Abilene and quickly heads out there to get some Abilene. First, claiming to be a hungry traveler, then, making his real intentions clear. So, Todd gets laid like a normal person while Abilene gets a sore vagina from the rapist. As Todd returns home, his sister fills him in on what happened, which may have been the biggest mistake of her life. Seeing nothing but red, Todd ignores Abilene's advice and goes off looking for the bastard rapist. While he's gone, Linda drops by for a visit. Abilene tells her to get lost, but Linda is kind to her and listens to her troubles. Linda's advice is that they go down on each other, which they quickly do. Todd still hasn't returned home, but it seems as though Linda and Abilene are now going to be lesbians together. So, whatevs.

image Those who think they've seen it all from good 'ol H.G. might want to seek this one out if they haven't already. Though not a very interesting movie or premise without the Sexploitation/incest elements. The siblings don't seem to have personalities and everything is played as dry as humanly possible. The actress who plays Abilene isn't bad. Dull, but sweet and innocent-looking, not unlike Jane Jensen from Tromeo And Juliet, which is ironic if you've seen that one. One little tidbit that might be worth knowing is that Linda And Abilene was actually filmed at the Spahn Ranch, home of the Manson Family, who, from what I have read, made sure, above all else, to be present for Linda and Abilene's love scene. "A bunch of goofy kids, stoned out of their heads", Herschell once referred to them.

So, I'm not sure anyone asked for this, but since it does exist, we might as well see the humor in it. That doesn't mean we have to understand it. The fact that this movie exists is a mystery on its own, but it leaves me asking certain questions. Like why does the parent's death leave a void that can seemingly only be filled with lots and lots of sex? what exactly was Abilene's and Todd's relationship like with these people? And I find it interesting how it's touched on that what the brother and sister are doing is wrong, but the movie seems oddly oblivious to how messed up this really is. Ultimately sending the message that sticking it to your sister isn't that weird as long as you're depressed and lonely. I don't know. That's what I get from all this. 5/10

Have you ever quit a job?

I've quit a few jobs because I moved away (I don't have a car, so I can't travel far), but I've never quit a job out of hate or disillusion. I work my ass off over there and people give me shit because I don't have a smile on my face. I'm fucking exhausted, you dickholes! I already have to bike 5+ miles a day for the commute, and I rely on caffeine and energy drinks to make it through the day. People mistake my apathy for anger, and that's what makes me angry. Goddamn customers!

I guess that also explains my lack of activity here, too. I'm tired all the time, and it's putting me into a strange funk. I don't have much of an appetite for anything these days.

How about you guys? Has your life ever gotten stagnant?

I was watching "Waiting..." (2005) the other day, and Chi McBride's character gives Justin Long's character a few words of wisdom that echo how I'm feeling about it. Great movie, if you haven't seen it.
