What is everyone going to watch/do on Halloween?

This topic is probably a little premature with like a week and a half to go, or so, but what the hell. I will probably go with just some re-watches for the day, having seen all FTV's that appeal to me so far. I will probably do a all day Halloween marathon. Provisionally I will probably go with these:

The works of Jack Ketchum

Just finished my October Challenge with my final FTV, Offspring (2009).

Holy hell, is this guy a twisted writer. So far, I've seen The Girl Next Door, which was a totally depressing misogynistic tale of a 1950s family with a dark secret, and the guilt of never speaking out about it. I also watched The Woman, which was about another twisted family that keeps a savage girl they find in the woods. In Offspring, there's more savages, but these ones are violent instigators of brutal dismemberments. Seriously, that movie was fucked!

What do you think of Jack Ketchum? I'll be making an effort to see his other works. I want to see Red, but every time I searched for it, I only got streams for that shitty Bruce Willis movie.

Odd choices to play cops?

I'm half-watching Child's Play on AMC. Chris Sarandon always seemed like an odd choice to cast as the cop (detective) in that movie. He does a good job, I'm not saying he fails in the role. But, it just seems strange to me, to hear him talk like a cop, and have cop mannerisms, etc. I guess he made too much of an impression on me in Fright Night, and in The Sentinel.

Does anyone come to mind for anyone here, as someone who played a cop but just didn't seem like one, for whatever reason?

Videos of stuff - vs - Words of stuff

Imagine googling something, in hopes of getting an explanation. Do you prefer a video response, or a textual response? Is society so against reading that they'd rather watch someone explain something, regardless of how graceful said person is? Or does society prefer cultured, well worded thoughts on the matter?

Personally, I think words are probably best, because they can mask my insecurities and come out as I intend them. I can go back and edit out a mistake if I want, but you can't do that in a video (without an obvious cut). I don't know what I'm getting at. I drank a lot, in honor of Mr. Lahey, and I'll post whatever I damn well please! Expression and angst is good for the soul. It proves you're alive.

Plus, you don't have to scroll and navigate to a point in the video where he talks about what you want to hear. Your brain is far more capable of skipping through words than fast-forwarding through video to find a point of interest, don't you think?



I'm not as photogenic as some people say. I have't made any videos in a long time because I don't see the point, seeing as how I'm not so charismatic. I say things on here that come off offending to some people, apparently, which means I'm clearly not good with words, but I damn well strive to be!

I wish I could get more videos made for Trash Epics, but my priorities are wak. I love using this site, and I love everyone on it, and I want to make it even better. I kinda wonder if videos are the way to go, but I really don't know what people would like to see in a video.

Crack open a beer, or a bottle of wine, and ramble about shit. Get off-topic if you must. I feel like there will probably be bias in these answers, since we all obviously love message boards enough to be here, but I drank a fair amount tonight, if I say so myself, and I don't give a fuck.

Playing football at age 47

Sorry, this is completely OT, but it's just interesting. This guy is from my hometown in Massachusetts. He has been working as an actor for many years, and has just started going to college, near Los Angeles, in his late 40's. He's playing college football! 47 is not just his jersey number, it's also his age. He turns 48 in a couple weeks. Isn't that amazing? He's not even a particularly huge guy, he just stayed in shape, over the years. I am not supporting the fact that he has decided to embrace brain damage as a lifestyle at his age, but Jesus Christ, playing football at 47 is pretty impressive.

Dude Bro Party Massacre III

Anyone seen this 80's slasher parody yet? It's dumb as hell and everyone involved certainly knows it, which makes it all the more better! Watched it as part of the October Horror Challenge this year and I'm already tempted to watch it yet again.

What movies did you buy or watch the last two weeks? (10-22)

Besides the long-awaited blu-ray of Kill Baby Kill I picked up Poughkeepsie Tapes, Inconceivable and Devil's Mile. I don't know anything about the last two.

Raymond Did It (2011)

Anyone seen this? It's supposedly a slasher film about a mentally challenged kid who gets blamed for a murder, sent to an asylum, then gets out years later and starts killing the people who framed him. It also has a female villain with a Bettie Page hairdo named, appropriately, Paige.

It sounds like it could be worth checking out so I wondered if anyone here knew about it.
