IMDB Goofs
Remember how back in the day when submitting goofs it usually took a few days at least for them to show up? Well, now they are instantaneous. Apparently they believe anything people post now.
I'm tempted to create a dummy account and post something blatantly false just to see if it instantly is posted, and how long it takes to come down.

Lake Mungo (2008)
Has anyone watched this? The "scene" that the movie culminates to, was seriously chilling material.

Jeepers Creepers 3 One Night Only (Tonight)
I'll admit it, I'm a fan of the Jeepers Creepers movies. Yes, I'm aware of the controversy surrounding the director Victor Salva. He's a scumbag sure, but I still enjoy his movies.
I have been looking forward to part 3 of the Creeper movies for a very long time, and now I hear that it's playing in theaters for one night only (which is scheduled for tonight September 26th) due to people threatening to protest the movie. So sick of people ruining things.
Does knowing a director has a history like this stop you from viewing their movies? Also does anyone know if this will be available anywhere else to watch after tonight?

Firestarter (1984), and recurring actors in Stephen King works
Here's another FTV for me this year, because Stephen King has so goddamn many movies out there, I still haven't even seen them all. Firestarter is a government experiment gone wrong, and those trying to get away from those damn government agents that are always trying to make a weapon out of everything.
Mark L. Lester was a busy man in the early 80s with Class of 1984, Firestarter, and Commando. Beyond the early 90s, I guess his career turned to shit with obscure titles no one's heard of.
What surprised me about this movie was the cast. There's quite a few names in there, because every big actor has worked on a King story at some point or another... and some even worked on several King stories!
Who are some actors that have been in more than 1 Stephen King film or series?
Drew Barrymore - Firestarter, Cat's Eye
Ed Harris - Creepshow, Needful Things
Jeffrey DeMunn - The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist
John Cusack AND Samuel L. Jackson - 1408, Cell
Kathy Bates - Misery, Dolores Claiborne
Martin Sheen - The Dead Zone, Firestarter
Morgan Freeman - The Shawshank Redemption, Dreamcatcher
Ron Perlman - Sleepwalkers, Desperation
Timothy Hutton - The Dark Half, Secret Window
Tom Jane - Dreamcatcher, The Mist, 1922
Tom Skeritt - The Dead Zone, Desperation
William Sadler - The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile
Am I missing any recurring actors?

2017 Sci/Fi/Fantasy Challenge - Final Recap
I know that everyone has already moved on to the exciting world of the Horror Challenge - who here doesn't feel their blood rushing faster as soon as October 1st rolls around every year? - but here's the final standings for our first ever Sci/Fi/Fantasy Challenge at TE.

By Day 2, I am sure there was no doubt in anyone's mind who the winner would be - and they were absolutely right. Onyx launched her rocket hard and fast and kept up a stellar pace all the way to the final landing. The only suspense was in "Who's on Second?" Well, here's how it shook out:
Onyx: 11,329 (!!!)
Troma: 7969
Ballz: 7805
Bapho: 6075
beatnik: 5320
Foz: 5144
Box: 3482
Zomb: 2271
peeps: 2124
Johan: 1887
Gymno: 1737
India: 1554
Wank: 1015
zed: 357

So, Onyx gets the Golden Ziggy and Troma successfully wards off Ballz challenge for second. Congrats to all who joined in (where were you smerd?) and looking forward to Hoorrrroarrr, turkeys and beyond!
Thanks also to my co-conspirator, Foz. He delivered weekly recaps that fogged my brain nicely with the sharpness of well-honed stats and Cosellish psycho-babble. We will be back next year, same Trash Epics time, same Trash Epics channel to co-host the next edition of this challenge.

Leatherface - Another Texas Chainsaw Massacre
A few days ago, it premiered on-demand. That's right... this glorious bastard didn't even get mainstream theater treatment, because it's that kind of movie.
Directed by French-extremists Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, this movie is definitely violent, and takes it takes you all over the place, from homestead havoc, to mental asylum madness, to deranged road trip hijinx, and back to regular ol' Texas Chainsaw Massacres.
It ain't perfect. The movie looks like a nasty piece of celluloid, trying to capture that color-scheme and dreary sunburned orange of the original, but it never really surpasses it. The characters are just about all there, including their cliches, and if you like the series... you should be happy with it.
The performances are all pretty solid. Stephen Dorff plays a Sheriff Wydell type, and those familiar with Netflix/Marvel will recognize Finn Jones in there. Iron Fist. He ain't so tough in here though, playing a rather throwaway cop.
Maybe it is violent. Maybe it is moody. Maybe it appears like a fitting entry to the series, but maybe it's just milking a dry cow. Tobe Hooper produced this. This is the last of the chainsaw films he'll have been involved with. I guess all these directors come full circle toward the end of their careers. I can't complain.

Anyone know what they are going to kick-off the Oct Challenge with?
I was thinking of starting with HΓ€xan: Witchcraft Through the Ages (1922). I was also thinking of watching D@bbe (2006), Even the Wind Is Afraid (1968) and Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (1970) that same day. I will have a lot of time on my hands in October so I hope to see a few great movies.
Anyone have any idea what they are going to kick-off the Oct Challenge with?
