From Pocket Ninjas, quite possibly the corniest movie I've ever seen. This scene is just the tip of the iceberg. Most sources say it's from 1997, but the copyright on the film says 1994. It's no surprise it had a delayed release. It's kind of hard to believe it got released at all. Or made at all.

Horror Channel FrightFest Season

For British & Irish horror fans, FrightFest, is an annual film festival taking place in London during the August Bank Holiday, so to celebrate FrightFest 2017, my local Horror Channel is dedicating thirteen nights to past festival favourites. Double bills are on Horror every night from August 18th - 30th starting from 9pm.

The Defenders - A brief review

Netflix has been doing its Marvel shows to build into what we'd all expect to be the Avengers equivalent for the small screen. "The Defenders" features our four protagonists cross paths to fight The Hand, some ancient organization full of ninjas and mystical shit. They use the recently revived Elektra as their "weapon", and the misfit heroes have to join forces to put an end to it.

The show is kind of slow, but it has some good fight scenes. Yeah, the fight scenes are good... if you can actually see them. Most of the show was entirely too dark, and it's hard to make out what happens in most of it. Get a clue, Netflix! Get some better lighting in there. Sure, DareDevil doesn't need light, but the audience does!

Don't expect any glorified cameos. There's no Punisher, Kingpin, Kilgrave, or even Stan Lee in this show. Only those directly related to this plot will be there.

Overall, it's okay. The shows have been getting less cool as they pump more and more of them out each year, but this was a step up from the last two. I'd rank them as follows:

DareDevil season 1 > DareDevil season 2 > Jessica Jones > The Defenders > Luke Cage > Iron Fist

Dusk (2017) Trailer

This game came to my attention earlier today through a pre-release video review. While it's a new game, it's a throwback in both gameplay and graphics style to 1990's horror-themed first-person shooters such as Doom, Quake, and Blood. The trailer even makes blatant references to those first two.

Personally, I love what this game's going to feature. Heavy blood and gore, a large variety of weapons and some can apparently be dual wielded, options to dumb down the graphics further if the default settings aren't '90s enough for you, and rednecks with chainsaws. Supposedly it's also only going to cost $20. Will buy.

Ouija boards

So I played with one over the weekend. And it worked. I shit you not. I read online the reasons why Ouija boards seemingly work, and I'm sorry, but there's just no way in hell either of us subconsciously spelled out some of the things it said.

The 'pocalypse is cumming!

I know we all hate to discuss politics on here, but the North K situation is very frightening. That little fat guy is ready to nuke us, and we're ready to go to war over it. It's a reality we'll all soon face as the moment of truth happens in a week or less, when Guam gets bombed. We're all fucked. 😟

Might as well go out talking about our favorite apocalypse scenarios. Which are your favorite scenarios? Which do you think are the most plausible?

I think the tech-pocalypse is very likely. Skynet already exists, and the nukes are already in play. Zombie apocalypse is often considered to be the most fun, because people want to smash in the skulls of mindless villains, but there's not a lot of grounded fact to sustain the idea.

I've also grown really fond of the Ape-pocalypse recently, but that's also pretty out there.

Scars and Bone-Breaks

I was watching The IT Crowd, season 2 episode 2, and when Matt Berry came on-screen, I got so excited, I brought the bottle of whiskey to my mouth too fast and chipped my tooth. I'm going to have that for the rest of my life now! 🥴

I haven't had much time for movies lately but I just recently bought Murder Set Pieces and The Red Queen Kills Seven Times.
